SoVonna Day-Goins: A Tail of Navigating Life as a Career Woman, Wife and Mother

SoVonna Day-Goins is a career woman, wife, and mother of two daughters who has successfully navigated the challenges of balancing her personal and professional life. She has lived a life full of love, hard work, and dedication to her family. In this blog post, we’ll explore SoVonna’s journey of marrying her high school sweetheart, navigating a demanding career, raising successful children, and now, rediscovering life as an empty nester with her COVID puppy.

SoVonna and her high school sweetheart had been in a long-distance relationship for over 10 years before finally tying the knot in a beautiful destination wedding in Jamaica surrounded by close family and friends. However, the journey was not without its challenges. After moving more than 1000 miles away, they had to navigate a long-distance relationship before finally getting married.

SoVonna’s career has been just as demanding, with her working long hours and navigating her way through the competitive world of finance. Starting at Citi, she later moved to JP Morgan and then to Credit Suisse, where she worked 80-hour weeks, including weekends. Despite the demands of her job, SoVonna was able to find the right nanny to help raise her children and made the decision that one parent must be at home to help with their upbringing.

In an unexpected turn of events, SoVonna became pregnant just two years after getting married. Although not very popular or commonplace at the time, her husband decided to put his career on hold and stay home to help raise their children. This unique decision helped create a special bond between him and their daughters and allowed them to raise two amazing and kind young women who are now successful adults.

Now, as empty nesters with a COVID puppy, SoVonna and her husband are rediscovering life without children in the house. They’ve come full circle and are now able to focus on each other and their relationship after years of balancing work and family life.

In conclusion, SoVonna’s journey serves as an inspiration to those facing similar challenges in balancing their personal and professional lives. Her story highlights the importance of dedication, hard work, and finding the right support system, be it a spouse, a nanny, or family, to help achieve success and happiness.
